AUGUSTA — Due to the impending snowstorm on Thursday, the Maine Principals’ Association has elected to move the Western Maine Class D girls semifinal contests back a day.

The games, originally scheduled for this morning, will now be played on Friday.

No. 2 Rangeley will meet sixth-seeded Searsport at 10 a.m., followed at 11:30 a.m. by fourth-seeded Richmond and No. 9 Vinalhaven at the Augusta Civic Center.

The winners will play for the Western D championship on Saturday at 1:05 p.m.

Also, Western C girls and boys will now play on Friday as well. Dirigo meets Madison in a girls semifinal at 2:30 p.m., while Mountain Valley takes on Maranacook in the other at 4 p.m. In boys Western C action Friday, Waynflete battles Dirigo at 7 p.m. and Winthrop meets Maranacook at 8:30 p.m.

Because of these changes, the Eastern A boys and girls Regional finals have been been moved to Saturday, with girls at 2:30 p.m. and boys at 4:15 p.m.
