I disagree with the CanaRx decision, which struck down a Maine law allowing Maine citizens to purchase foreign prescriptions. One of the rationales by opponents of the law was that foreign prescriptions are less safe than U.S. prescriptions. Well, if that were true, what makes it any less safe for companies to outsource legal services jobs to India and the Philippines? Or for hospitals to outsource radiology positions overseas?

I think that the real reason is that the American pharmaceutical companies, like the rest of us, do not want the foreign competition.
