BOOTHBAY — A Maine man was injured when fire destroyed the family’s Boothbay mobile home.

Fire officials tell WGME the fire was called in at about 5:30 Saturday night.

Boothbay Fire Chief Richard Spoffard says the man’s wife helped him out of the home. He was taken to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.

The couple’s dogs also escaped the fire.

Spoffard said state fire marshal investigators are looking into the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious.

Fire departments from Southport, Edgecomb and Newcastle assisted in fighting the fire.
