Re: Bill Hoffman’s letter to the editor March 7, “Landlord could bring in lift to remove ice – if he cares”:

Because extreme weather caused ice to fall on two parked cars on Exchange Street in Portland’s Old Port, Bill Hoffman questions whether I care about our community.

Rest assured, my family and I care deeply about our city. As soon as the temperature rose and we were able to safely harness people on the roof, our crew cleared the ice-encrusted snow while men below directed folks away from any danger.

Keep in mind that we improved the previously “unsafe” Old Port to its present solid state over three tough decades of upgrading and preserving precious history, which continues to attract dynamic people to our proud community.
