I recently sent an email to Sen. Eric Brakey explaining why I totally disagree with his proposal to allow adults to opt out of wearing seat belts.
I was pleasantly surprised to get a quick response from him explaining his ideas and why he made the proposal. I still disagree with his position, and his proposal, but I found it refreshing that he took time to respond with a very thoughtful and professional explanation.
He and I will have to agree to disagree on the issue, and I sincerely hope his proposal fails to pass committee and does not become law, but he has earned my respect in his position as a senator.
