Fire and Rescue responded. The man was identified as Sadak Kariye, 27, of Lewiston. Ramsay said Kariye had crashed a 1991 Honda, which ended up in a gully and wasn’t visible from the road. Ramsay estimated it took Kariye about three hours to crawl from his vehicle up to Route 196, which is Lewiston Road.
Kariye was transported to Central Maine Medical Center with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. His condition was still not being released Tuesday at the request of the family. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
