PEOPLE PLUS’S VOLUNTEER TRANSPORTATION NETWORK (VTN) drivers get together once year for a coffee time at the People Plus Center on Union Street to meet each other, let People Plus say thanks for all they do, and share their driving experiences with other drivers in the program. The VTN program at People Plus offers residents of Brunswick, Harpswell and Topsham free rides to medical appointments and to get groceries. In addition, there are rides for vital personal services such as banking, visiting the post office and library, and getting to the hair salon, to name a few. More than 140 registered riders received 500 rides per year for about 7,500 miles of transportation provided. Volunteer drivers are desperately needed for this program.
