American singer-songwriter and guitarist Ryan Montbleau is known for this transcendent songcraft and powerful, uplifting voice that tackles intense topics just as easily as it expresses life’s simple, everyday joys. Montbleau will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, on the main stage of the Chocolate Church Arts Center, located at 804 Washington St., Bath.

Ryan Montbleau, who has been recording and touring as both a solo act and bandleader for much of the last 15 years, moves people. Montbleau was named the Best Local Male Vocalist in the 2007 Boston Music Awards. He won second prize for performance in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition and was nominated for a 2012 MTV Music Award for best concert experience. He has opened for John P. Hammond, Melissa Ferrick, Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton and Rodrigo y Gabriela.

According to Montbleau, “Whether it’s solo acoustic, with a trio, or with a full band of amazing players, my goal is to put on a great show every single night and to sing my truth as clearly as I can.”

Montbleau has toured relentlessly and connected with audiences night after night, year after year. A gifted songwriter, he has developed a very special history and bond to a deeply-rooted fanbase that now stretches all over the United States and beyond.
