In honor of Maine Maple Sunday, which is today, we’re featuring Maple Greek Yogurt made from non-pasteurized, organic whole Jersey cow milk.

Or, as I like to call it, crack.

This homemade Greek yogurt has an addictive texture; it’s thick like most other Greek yogurts, but light and airy at the same time. Its consistency is similar to cheesecake, or thick whipped cream. The maple flavoring is subtle, perhaps too subtle. I would have liked more, but not at the expense of that amazing texture.

The yogurt is made at The Milkhouse, a certified organic creamery overlooking China Lake. Founded in 2012 by Caitlin Frame and Andy Smith, the creamery also makes a blueberry flavor that comes with organic Maine blueberries on the bottom.

You can find Milkhouse yogurts at the Portland Food Co-op and Local Sprouts in Portland, Terra Optima and the Good Tern Co-op in Rockland, The Farm Stand in South Portland, and many other locations. For a complete list, go to
