The Portland Sea Dogs have postponed Thursday’s season opener at Hadlock Field, where several inches of snow fell overnight.

The 2015 opener against the Reading Fightin Phils is now scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m.

The team had guaranteed baseball would be played at Hadlock on Opening Day. As a result of the postponement, anyone with tickets for Thursday’s game may exchange each ticket for two tickets of equal or lesser value to any 2015 Sea Dogs home game, subject to availability. For questions about the ticket exchange, contact the Sea Dogs at 207-879-9500 or tickets@seadogs.com.

“Our grounds crew and stadium operations staff did an incredible job getting the ballpark ready to play,” Sea Dogs General Manager Geoff Iacuessa said in a press release. “However, Mother Nature had other plans and we will be honoring our Opening Day guarantee.”

Thursday’s postponed game against Reading will be made up as a single admission doubleheader on Saturday, May 23 at 1 p.m.
