WELLESLEY, Mass. — Sam Dexter went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored, one RBI and two stolen bases, and Andrew Richards closed out the game with 21/3 innings of shutout relief as Southern Maine held on for a 7-5 victory against Babson in college baseball..

Paul McDonough, Damon Wallace and Anthony Capuano each hit homers for the Huskies (17-7) against Babson (11-15).

Capuano and Brendon Joyce finished with two hits apiece for the Huskies, and McDonough drove in a pair of runs.

ST. JOSEPH’S, JOHNSON & WALES SPLIT: Dan Meeken pitched a 10-strikeout shutout to lead the Monks (20-11) to a 6-0 victory over Johnson & Wales (13-11) and a split at Providence, Rhode Island.

Taylor Reuillard doubled three times, scored twice and added an RBI to lead the Monks, while Brett Barbati had three hits, scored and had an RBI.

In the opener, Andrew Hunton’s three-run homer highlighted an eight-run sixth as the Wildcats rallied for a 9-2 victory.

COLBY 4, THOMAS 2: Ryder Arsenault, Jason Buco, Soren Hanson and Tyler Starks all had two hits for host Colby (14-6) against the Terriers (8-14) at Waterville.

The Mules broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh. Arsenault led off with a single and stole second. Buco singled to bring in Arsenault. Hanson followed with a single to push Buco to third, and Nils Carlson’s hit brought in Hanson.

SOFTBALL

ST. JOSEPH’S, SOUTHERN MAINE SPLIT: Erika Millett tossed a two-hitter, and Courtney Davis had three hits and four RBI to lead Huskies (16-14) to a 9-1, six-inning win over the Monks (22-8) in the second game at Gorham.

Mary Caron added three hits, two RBI and two runs, and Taylor Lux had three hits and three runs for the Huskies, who scored six unanswered runs over the final two innings.

In the opener, Melissa Mayhew and Theresa Hendrix had two hits and two RBI each, and Kelsy Gaddy hit a two-run homer to lead the Monks to a 6-1 win.

Erica Boulanger, Abigail Murphy and Danielle Egan combined to throw a four-hitter for St. Joseph’s.

UNE, THOMAS SPLIT: Abby Lambert struck out six and walked one while pitching a four-hitter for the Nor’easters (16-13) in a split against the Terriers (4-17) with a 6-0 victory in the second game at Biddeford.

Kelly Murphy had a pair of hits and three RBI for the Nor’easters, and Amanda Vallante and Sydney Helmbrecht each added two hits, one RBI and a run.

In the opener, Thomas scored twice in the top of the eighth and held on for a 7-6 victory.

Briana Warrant went 4 for 5 with three runs scored and one RBI for the Terriers, and UNE was paced by Adrienne Chase, who went 3 for 4 with two RBI.

Vallante, Lambert and Helmbrecht added two hits apiece for the Nor’easters.

LACROSSE

BOWDOIN 18, SOUTHERN MAINE 4: Megan O’Connor finished with three goals and two assists, and Emma Beecher added two goals and two assists to lead the Polar Bears (11-2) past the Huskies (3-10) at Brunswick.

Bowdoin, which led 15-1 at halftime, also got two goals each from Lindsay Picard, Brooke Bullington, Annie Glenn and Clare McLaughlin, and four assists from Kelsey Gallagher.
