Wayne’s greatest love was for his family and friends. He had a gift for hospitality, offering his home as a second home to countless friends. Many of his children’s friends consider Wayne their adopted dad.

He loved old Chevys, old homes and shopping at the ReStore or on Craigslist for bargains; he enjoyed the socialization around these transactions as much as the bargains. Wayne loved to take his 19-foot Chris Craft on the Saco River, Casco Bay, Sheepscot and Sebago Lakes with his kids and their friends in tow on a tube.

Wayne is survived by: his wife, Marcia; his four sons Peter, Nathan, Christopher and Matthew; two daughters, Natalie and Mary of Saco; and his father, Arthur Hyde of Florida.

Friends and family may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco on Friday evening, April 17 from 5-7 p.m.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18 at the First Parish Congregational Church, 13 Beach St., Saco.
