Maine writers Carolyn Chute and Wesley McNair will receive PEN New England writing awards on Sunday in Boston. Chute won in fiction for her latest novel, “Treat Us Like Dogs and We Will Become Wolves.” McNair won in poetry for “The Lost Child: Ozark Poems.”

PEN New England is a branch of PEN American Center and part of International PEN, an international literary and human rights organization.

It is based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. It has been giving awards for New England writers since 1975.

Chute and McNair will receive their awards at 2 p.m. Sunday at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.
