Traffic is being diverted due to a water main break on Maine Mall Road near the Best Buy entrance.
According to Lt. Todd Bernard of the South Portland Police Department, Maine Mall Road has been closed since 6 a.m. Monday to all traffic from Gorham Road to Philbrook Avenue.
Bernard said motorists should avoid the area. He said the Portland Water District, which was still on scene as of 10 a.m., has not set a time table for repairs.
