BANGOR — Marguerite “Peg” B. Wilkerson, 88, died April 14.

Wilkerson was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Marieville, the daughter of Mahlon and Mary Haslam Salsbury.

She attended Ellsworth High School, and married Howard G. Russell. The couple had two children, Mahlon and Mark Russell. She later married Byron Douglas Wilkerson and gave birth to another son, Scott D. Wilkerson.

Marguerite worked at a local Sears, Roebuck & Co. store. In her free time, she was an active member of the Lions Club, often participating in blood drives. She was also a 4-H member and had a love for flower gardens.

Wilkerson was predeceased by her husband, Byron, in 1981.

She is survived by her sons, Mahlon Russell, of Woolwich, Mark Russell, of Brunswick, and Scott Wilkerson, of Orono; granddaughters Keirsten Harte, of Bath, and Amanda Powell, of Topsham; and four great-grandchildren, Avery and Deirdre Harte and Maxwell and Sophie Powell.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick.
