A Portland man was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Portland to serve two months in federal prison and pay $115,529 in restitution for failure to file his 2010 federal income tax return.

Senthil Prabakaran, 42, was indicted July 8 on three charges of willful failure to file tax returns for 2008, 2009 and 2010. The two counts for 2008 and 2009 were dismissed as part of a plea agreement when he pleaded guilty in December.

Judge Nancy Torresen also sentenced Prabakaran to serve one year of supervision by the Federal Probation Office after completing his prison term. She ordered him to serve four months of that time after his release in home confinement, and to do 160 hours of community service.
