SCARBOROUGH — Hope Talbot Swasey, 95, of Scarborough and formerly of Boston, died April 24.

Swasey was born Sept. 26, 1919, the daughter of Martha and Oscar Halsey and niece of former Massachusetts Gov. Alvan T. Fuller.

She was the wife of Dudley Talbot, and later of Frederick Swasey, both of whom predeceased her.

Hope was a member of the Junior League and of the Vincent Club of Boston. She contributed volunteer work for the Perkins School for the Blind, the Women’s Educational and Industrial Union and the Judge Baker Guidance Center.

In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by her son, Samuel Talbot; her daughter-in-law, Michele Talbot; and her grandson, Jody Oberlander.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, James and Martha Oberlander, of Garden Valley, California, and James and Alicia Munton, of New Castle, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Lindsay and Theordore Talbot, of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, Timothy and Darcie Oberlander, of Portland, Oregon, and Christopher Oberlander, of Capitola, California; and her great-grandchildren, Calvin and Jackson Oberlander, of Portland, Oregon.

Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland.

Donations in Swasey’s memory may be made to the Vincent Memorial Hospital at Massachusetts General Hospital, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114, or to the Animal Rescue League of one’s choice.
