M.D. Harmon hit the nail squarely on the head: Kids have a right – and a need – to live free of the constant scrutiny of parents and other authorities (“Helicoptering parents and police need to let kids ‘free-range,’ “ April 24). This desire for “stultifying” control of others is indeed pathological.
What are we to make, then, of Harmon’s perennial crusade to control women, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, Muslims, liberals, folks receiving public aid and so many others? Paging Dr. Freud …
