Portland police have charged a local man with two counts of robbery for allegedly stealing two televisions in separate incidents from two people who have disabilities.

Police arrested Benjamin Martineau, 26, and he is being held in the Cumberland County Jail in Portland on $150,000 bail.

The victims’ residence is near Boyd Street and Cumberland Avenue. On April 24 at about 10 p.m., a man came to the home and asked to warm up and use the telephone. He then threatened the two people and stole their television and a telephone, police said.

The next day, the man returned about 4 a.m., came in through a window and threatened them with a knife, stealing another television, the victims told police.

Neither victim was injured in either incident.
