WESTBROOK — Bailey Sawyer’s grounder in the bottom of the ninth inning was mishandled Tuesday, allowing the winning run to score as Westbrook came away with a 4-3 victory against Cheverus in an SMAA baseball game at Olmsted Field.

In the ninth, Corey Walker reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second and scored on the error.

Bailey Ryan of Westbrook (1-4) pitched all nine innings with eight strikeouts and no walks, allowing nine hits.

Alex Libby of Cheverus (3-1) had a no-hitter through five innings before giving up three runs in the sixth to make it 3-3.

MARSHWOOD 11, BIDDEFORD 1: Zach Quintal pitched four shutout innings, allowing only a pair of singles, striking out three and walking two as the Hawks (3-1) defeated the Tigers (1-4) in a five-inning game at South Berwick.

Noah McDaniel had a two-run homer and a double for Marshwood. Zach Hodges added a pair of singles.

Kerry Crepeau hit a solo homer in the fifth for Biddeford.

WINDHAM 7, GORHAM 0: Tanner Laberge struck out nine and walked two while giving up two hits over six shutout innings for the Eagles (1-3) against the Rams (2-3) at Gorham.

Mike Gilman finished with three hits for Windham, including hitting a single, stealing a base and scoring during a four-run fourth that extended Windham’s lead to 6-0.

Logan Drouin hit a double and a triple for Gorham.


BRUNSWICK 18, OXFORD HILLS 2: Josh Dorr had four goals and one assist, and Ryan Croatti added three goals as the Dragons (4-0) cruised past the Vikings (0-5) at South Paris.

Brunswick also got two goals and three assists from Kyle Woodruff.

Kelton Loper and Ian Lejonhud scored for Oxford Hills.

KENNEBUNK 10, FREEPORT 8: The Rams (3-1) took a 5-3 halftime and held off the Falcons (2-2) at Freeport.

Sam Wogan and Perrin Davidson combined for six goals and an assist for Freeport.

Zach Wogan stopped 17 shots for the Falcons.

CHEVERUS 19, BONNY EAGLE 7: The Stags (2-2) opened an 11-5 halftime lead and handled the Scots (1-3) at Standish.

Steven Estes had a pair of goals and two assists for Bonny Eagle.

Baker Riddell and Jared Leclerc combined for nine saves for the Scots.

BIDDEFORD 13, MARSHWOOD 6: John Gilliam scored five goals and Cody Sevigny added four to lead the Tigers (2-3) past the Hawks (0-4) at Biddeford.

Troy Stevens scored twice for Marshwood.

WINDHAM 14, NOBLE 1: Griffin Jacobson finished with three goals and three assists for the Eagles (4-0) against the Knights (1-3) at North Berwick.

Zach Hough, Zack Callahan and Ross Batchelder added two goals apiece for Windham.

CAPE ELIZABETH 21, WELLS 0: Ben Shea collected seven goals and two assists for the Capers (4-0) against the Warriors (1-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Griffin Thoreck, Owen Thoreck and R.J. Sarka added two goals apiece, and Griffen Thoreck also had three assists.

Owen Thoreck and Sarka each had one assist.

FALMOUTH 15, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Bryce Kuhn scored six goals, and C.J. Leighton had three goals and one assist for the Yachtsmen (4-1), who opened with a 9-0 run and defeated the Raiders (0-4) at Fryeburg.

Jack Scribner and Henry Norris added two goals apiece, and Scribner also had three assists for Falmouth.

Ryan Caracciolo and Joe Schrader scored for Fryeburg.

MESSALONSKEE 10, MT. ARARAT 6: Connor Smith had four goals and an assist to pace Messalonskee (3-2) over Mt. Ararat (1-4) at Oakland. Jake Schoenberg had two goals and an assist for Mt. Ararat.


FALMOUTH 16, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6: Robbie Armitage went 3 for 5, including a pair of triples, with five RBI as the Yachtsmen (3-1) cruised past the Raiders (0-4) at Fryeburg.
