Authorities say a wife apparently shot her husband in the face and arm while turkey hunting in China, Maine.

Reginald Jacques, 60 of Waterville is recovering from injuries after his wife, Janice Jacques, shot him with a shotgun loaded with bird shot.

Game wardens responded Tuesday morning at 10:25 a.m. to investigate the report of an accidental shooting.

The husband and wife were hunting for turkeys off Danforth Road when the man apparently was shot, according to Cpl. John McDonald of the Maine Warden Service.

The injuries were not life-threatening. The couple are cooperating with police, who declined to release additional details about the case, which remains under investigation.
