
He was born in Gardiner on Aug. 20, 1950, the son of William and Grace Vieira.
Stephen graduated from Richmond High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later worked at Bath Iron Works for 32 years.
He was faithful and loyal to his family. Stephen would always make sure he spent quality time with his beloved mother at Horizons Nursing Facility.
Stephen enjoyed being creative with home projects. He also enjoyed camping, riding his Harley and taking his daily walks around Richmond.
He was predeceased by his father William Vieira. Stephen is survived by his loving mother Grace Hunton, companion Nance Duguay, sister Joan Dyer and husband Dennis, nieces Ashlee Beeler and husband Matthew, Kathryn Dyer and her partner George Sotiropoulos, great niece Chloe Beeler, children Kathy Borja and husband Tom, Oressa Farnum and husband Dustin, grandchildren Whitney Mann and her fiancé Dan Mechling, Gracie, Rilan, Vinnie and Natalee.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, May 23 from 10 a.m. till noon, with a service commencing at noon. A gathering will follow at the funeral home.
In Stephen’s memory, donations may be made to the Susan Curtis Foundation c/o Kick Stands Up for Kids, 1321 Washington Ave. #104, Portland, ME 04103.
Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St., Richmond.
