AUGUSTA (AP) — Gov. Paul LePage has nominated three judges to the Maine Superior Court.

The Republican governor’s office announced the nominations of Judges Wayne Douglas, Bruce Mallonee and Lance Walker on Tuesday.

Douglas was appointed to the Maine District Court in 2002 by former independent Gov. Angus King. Before that, the Ocean Park resident was a lawyer at Pierce Atwood and chief legal counsel to King.

Former Democratic Gov. John Baldacci appointed Mallonee to the District Court in 2010. He was previously a partner at a Bangor firm.

Walker has served on the District Court since being nominated by LePage last year. The Falmouth resident had been a law clerk to Superior Court justices and a partner at a Portland law firm.

Their nominations must be confirmed by the state Senate.
