RUMFORD — Kyle Bourget tossed a onehitter as the Lisbon High School baseball team cruised to a 10-0 Mercy Rule win over Mountain Valley on Thursday in a Mountain Valley Conference matchup.

The Greyhounds finished 13-3 and moved up to fourth in the Western C Heal Point Standings. Lisbon will host the preliminary winner between No. 5 Maranacook and No. 12 Mountain Valley in a Western C quarterfinal next week.

Bourget struck out eight and walked one in the win. Josh Mason had the lone hit for the Falcons (7-9).

RJ Sargent, Bourget and Tyler Halls each singled in the fourth, and a throwing error allowed two runs to score for a 3-0 Lisbon lead. Darren Ward and Ryley Austin added a two-run single each to make for a 7-0 contest. Halls later finished things off with an RBI single for a 10-0 edge.

Visiting Erskine Academy jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning and cruised to a 16-2 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Morse.

Despite the loss, the Shipbuilders (8-8) advanced to the postseason for the first time since 2007. Morse is seeded 10th and will visit seventh-seeded Fryeburg Academy (10- 6) for a Western B preliminary game on Tuesday.

Hope Faulkingham singled twice for Morse, while Marissa Parks, Mikayla Rose and Sierra Wallace each singled. Parks struck out two and walked five.

Avery Bond doubled twice and singled, while Amber Grady singled three times to pace Erskine Academy.

Lindsay Marston tossed a three-hit shutout and launched a two-run home run to pace the host Falcons to a Mountain Valley Conference win.

Lisbon fell to 9-7 and claimed the No. 8 seed in Western C. The Greyhounds will host Maranacook in a prelim next week.

Marston struck out five, and Jordyn Turner had a pair of hits.

Kailyn Hill was tagged with the loss despite allowing just six hits. The Greyhounds committed three costly errors.
