A man was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle Saturday on the Maine Turnpike in Saco.

Brandon Viger, 27, of Saco suffered cuts to his face and mouth in the incident, said Maine State Trooper Matthew Williams.

According to Williams, Viger was northbound in the third lane of the turnpike shortly before 3 p.m. when his motorcycle began to wobble, possibly from a mechanical problem. Viger was able to maneuver the motorcycle to the breakdown lane, but then fell. He was not wearing a helmet, Williams said.

Viger was taken to Maine Medical Center Portland for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Williams said. No charges were filed.
