The gasoline price-monitoring website GasBuddy.com reports Monday that the average cost of a gallon of gas in Maine is $2.78, up 12.8 cents from a month ago
The price per gallon in Maine is 3 cents lower than the national average.
The company blamed the price increase on a decline in both crude oil and gasoline inventories.
The Maine price is based on a survey of more than 1,200 gas stations.
