EMG3, a subsidiary of TideSmart Global in Falmouth, an experiential marketing and media firm, announced Wednesday it has acquired Florida-based Phantom Shopper LLC, a hospitality-consulting group that provides business intelligence information for the service industry worldwide.

Phantom Shoppers has recruited and worked with a database of over 45,000 “secret shoppers” worldwide, people who anonymously shop with the purpose of gathering real-time, accurate data for brands, according to a release from EMG3. Clients then have access to this data along with customer feedback surveys and comprehensive reports.

“EMG3 has managed hundreds of thousands of events at retail for top consumer brands,” said Steve Woods, CEO of EMG3/TideSmart Global. “We’re thrilled to be able to now offer our clients the capability of real-time data that will not only help improve the quality of their brand and customer experiences, but also provide valuable knowledge to help grow their business.”

Brian Mula-Howard, founder and CEO of Phantom Shoppers, will remain involved in the day-to-day management as he joins the EMG3 team as an executive.
