SOUTH PORTLAND — The environmental organization Friends of Casco Bay is looking for a new baykeeper to advocate for Casco Bay.
The nonprofit organization’s longtime Casco Baykeeper Joe Payne retired in January after almost 24 years on the job. The group’s executive director, Cathy Ramsdell, will serve as interim baykeeper until the position is filled.
The South Portland-based organization says the baykeeper will serve as a spokesperson for the group and champion its mission to “improve and protect the environmental health of the bay.” The group is accepting applications until Aug. 31.
