BIDDEFORD — Nate Huot struck out 15 while throwing a no-hitter Saturday as Saco & Biddeford Savings beat Bonanza of Sanford 8-0 to complete a sweep of their American Legion baseball doubleheader.

Corey Brown led the offense for Saco & Biddeford Savings (3-2) with a double, a triple and three RBI.

Nick Gallant’s two-run single in the sixth inning capped an 11-1 mercy-rule win in the opener. Gallant had two hits and three RBI and scored twice. Kerry Crepeau added two hits and two RBI.

Bonanza dropped to 1-3.

LIBBY-MITCHELL 8, SEBAGO LAKERS 7: Jack Hughes went 3 for 5 with a pair of RBI and scored three runs, as Libby-Mitchell (2-4) used a four-run ninth inning (2-4) to rally past Sebago (3-3) at Standish.

Bailey Welsh doubled home Hughes with the tying run and scored the winner.

Brendan Kane and Nick Lorello each added a pair of hits for Libby-Mitchell.

Drake Laughlin had a single and a double for Sebago.

STAPLES CROSSING SPLITS WITH WELLS: Charlie Bell threw a two-hitter for Wells (2-2) in a 6-0 win over Staples Crossing (3-1) in the first game of a doubleheader at South Berwick.

Shawn Ramsey went 3 for 4 with an RBI for Wells, while Cody Cousins and Connor Pease each had a pair of hits and two RBI.

Zach Quintal and Noah McDaniel combined for a two-hitter as Staples Crossing won the second game, 7-1.

SACO BAY PT SWEEPS MASSABESIC: Cole Merritt led off the top of the eighth with a double and scored when Trevor LaBonte’s sacrifice bunt was thrown away, giving Saco Bay (4-2) a 4-3 victory in the second game of a doubleheader in Waterboro.

Merritt drove home three runs to pace Saco Bay to a 6-1 win in the first game. Malcolm Hughes pitched the first six innings, striking out six while allowing one hit and an unearned run.

GRAY/GREELY 5, YANKEE FORD 4: Will Bryant lined a two-run double and Miles Shields followed with a run-scoring single as Gray/Greely scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning and held on to defeat Yankee Ford at Cumberland.

Ryan Twitchell picked up the victory with seven scoreless innings allowing three hits, striking out 10 and walking three.

Kevin Goldberg had a double for Yankee Ford.

AUGUSTA SWEEPS BRUNSWICK: Ray Mosca had a double and an RBI to lead Augusta to a 2-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader at Brunswick.

Reid Shostak and Cam Brochu each had two singles for Augusta, and Tayler Carrier added a double.

Augusta won the second game by forfeit.

JUNIOR LEGION

YANKEE FORD 3, SACO & BIDDEFORD SAVINGS 0: Jack Whaley lofted a sacrifice fly in the first inning, then scored on Chandler Hartigan’s single in the third as Yankee Ford (5-1) beat Saco & Biddeford Savings (0-5) in Portland.

Ben Hanna added the final run on a fourth-inning passed ball.

Nik Hase pitched a six-hitter with six strikeouts for Yankee Ford.

BRUNO’S 9, WINDHAM 3: Bruno’s (4-2) scored seven runs in the fourth inning to earn a victory at Windham (0-2).

Nick Stasium went 2 for 3 with an RBI for Bruno’s.

Cameron McCartney, Mitchell Delcourt, Tim Greenlaw each had a pair of hits for Windham.

FRIDAY’S LEGION GAMES

GRAY/GREELY 15, OA-YARMOUTH 2: Justin Leeman drove had two hits and scored four times to lead Gray/Greely (1-1) to a win in Cumberland.

Cal Soule also had two hits and knocked home three runs for Gray/Greely. Taylor Normandeau allowed four hits over the first four innings of the five-inning game.

MOODY’S 4, LIBBY-MITCHELL 2: Cam Smith scored the tying run on an error and Patrick Weimer doubled down the right-field line to drive home Sam Kilborn with the go-ahead run as Moody’s (3-1) rallied past Libby-Mitchell (1-4) in Scarborough.
