BOSTON — Forward Jimmy Hayes’ new deal with the Boston Bruins will pay him $2.3 million a year for three years.

The Bruins also signed forward Brett Connolly to a one-year contract with a cap figure of $1,025,000. Forward Brandon DeFazio got a one-year, two-way contract worth a cap figure of $575,000 at the NHL level.

Hayes is a Boston native who played 72 games for the Florida Panthers last season and had 19 goals and 16 assists. He was acquired from the Panthers last week for forward Reilly Smith and the contract of center Marc Savard, who has not played since 2011 because of post-concussion syndrome.

The 25-year-old Hayes helped Boston College win the national championship in 2010.

BLACKHAWKS: Defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk and Stanley Cup champion Chicago have agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2017-18 season.

The 23-year-old van Riemsdyk had one assist in 18 regular-season games with the Blackhawks last season. He skated in four Stanley Cup Final games.

BLUES: St. Louis signed star forward Vladimir Tarasenko to an eight-year, $60 million contract.

General Manager Doug Armstrong announced the move, locking up the 23-year-old Tarasenko after a season in which he made his first career All-Star game and was 10th in the NHL with 73 points, including 37 goals, to go along with a plus-27 rating. He was the youngest Blues player with a 30-goal season since Brendan Shanahan in 1991-92.

Drafted 16th overall by the Blues in 2010, Tarasenko has 135 points (66 goals, 69 assists) in 179 career regular-season games over parts of three seasons. He also has 10 goals and an assist in 13 playoff games.

COYOTES: Arizona signed center Dylan Strome, their first-round pick in last month’s NHL draft, to a three-year entry-level contract.

Strome, 18, was the third overall pick in the June 26 draft.

He led the Ontario Hockey League in scoring with 45 goals and 129 points in 68 games last season.

Strome ranked first in the OHL in assists with 84 and third in goals while also recording 40 multi-point games.

The team also signed left wing Mikkel Boedker to a one-year, $3.75 million deal.

Boedker filed for salary arbitration on Sunday, but the sides were able to iron out a deal Tuesday before they went before a mediator.

The 25-year-old from Denmark has been one of Arizona’s most creative scorers during seven seasons with the team.

Boedker had 14 goals and 14 assists in 45 games last season, which was cut short in January after he ruptured his spleen. He had 19 goals and 32 assists in 2013-14.

Boedker has 67 goals and 107 assists in 383 career NHL games.

HURRICANES: Forward Zach Boychuk agreed on a one-year, two-way contract.

The deal will pay him $600,000 in the NHL or $200,000 in the minors with a guarantee of $250,000.

Boychuk had three goals and three assists in 31 games with the Hurricanes last season. He was Carolina’s first-round selection in the 2008 draft.
