Former President George H.W. Bush, 91, the oldest living former president, remained hospitalized Thursday morning after falling in his Kennebunkport home and breaking a bone in his neck, according to a Bush family spokesman.

“President Bush remains hospitalized at Maine Medical Center. We will send updates as they become available,” spokesman Jim McGrath said in a tweet Thursday morning.

Maine Medical Center confirmed Thursday morning he was in fair condition.

McGrath said Bush fell at his home Wednesday and broke a bone in his neck.

“His condition is stable, he is fine, but he’ll be in a neck brace,” McGrath said Wednesday night.

Jenna Bush Hagar, Bush’s granddaughter and daughter of President George W. Bush, posted a message about her grandfather Thursday morning.
