BENEDICTA (AP) — Maine state police say they’re searching for a gunman following the shootings of four people in three different communities in northern Maine.

Steve McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety said Friday that four people were shot overnight in the towns of Lee, Benedicta and Silver Ridge.

A command post was set up at Lee Academy.

McCausland he didn’t have further details on the shootings. The names and conditions of the victims were not known.
