PORTLAND (AP) — A Mexico man has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for being in possession of guns when he was not allowed to have firearms.

Corey Eustis, in addition to a four-year, three-month prison term, was also sentenced Thursday to three years of probation.

The 39-year-old Eustis was convicted in May.

Eustis was not allowed have guns because of a prior domestic violence conviction.

Eustis was convicted in 2011 of assaulting his girlfriend. He shot himself at a campfire in 2012, and police found him to be in possession of three firearms and ammunition.
