BRISTOL, Conn. — Parker Filo Loos went 4 for 4 with two RBI, and Charlton, Massachusetts, eliminated Scarborough from the Little League Softball East Regional with a 7-2 win Monday afternoon.

After giving up two runs in the top of the first, Scarborough tied the game in the bottom half on Hannah Gower’s two-run single. But Scarborough was held to three hits the rest of the way.

Scarborough, playing in the East Regional for the fourth straight year, finished 1-2 in the double-elimination tournament. The Maine champions lost 5-4 to Warwick, Rhode Island, on Saturday and beat Lyndonville, Vermont, 6-2 on Sunday.

LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL

BIDDEFORD 9, OCEANSIDE 6: Kurtis Edgerton had a pair of hits, including a double, and Biddeford scored four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to improve to 2-0 in pool play at the state tournament in Waldoboro.

Biddeford clinched the top seed in Pool B and will face Bangor West in a semifinal at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Alex McAlevey also hit a double for Biddeford.

HALL-DALE 8, ACADIAN 0: Ian Stebbins hit a home run and a triple to pace a 10-hit attack as Hall-Dale remained undefeated.

Hall-Dale pitchers Logan Dupont, Lindsey Bell and Thomas Trafton combined on a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Hall-Dale finished first in Pool A and will play Westbrook in a semifinal at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

BABE RUTH 13-15

TRUMBULL (CONN.) 6, AUGUSTA 0: The Maine champions were held to three hits by the host team and were eliminated from the New England Regional for players ages 13-15.

Isaiah Magee hit a double and Cody Taylor and Devon Maschino each had a single for Augusta, which went 2-2 in the regional.
