A woman who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Durham over the weekend was identified Monday as Beth L. Woodmancy, 52, of Brunswick.

Chief Deputy William Gagne of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said Woodmancy died of her injuries at the scene of the crash on Sunday around 7:10 p.m. on Route 125 in Durham near the intersection of Meadow Road.

Woodmancy was traveling north on Route 125 when she failed to negotiate a curve, left the west side of the road, and struck a utility pole. She was not wearing a helmet and speed is believed to have contributed to the crash, Gagne said.

The crash remains under investigation.

“We believe there may have been some witnesses to the crash that we have not spoken to,” Gagne said in a written statement.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to please contact the lead investigator, Sgt. Rielly Bryant, by calling 207-753-2599.
