I believe the minimum wage should be raised throughout this state, but not to $15 per hour.

It should actually be raised across the country. At most, it should be $10 to $11 per hour, but it needs to be based on the level of skill or work performance.

If we raise wages to or above $15 per hour, prices on goods and services will undoubtedly start going up. Small businesses will suffer, and, in turn, employees will suffer.

Layoffs would indeed happen, or employees would have their hours cut. You may even see businesses shut down or move out of state.

Yes, working Mainers need to earn a more livable wage, but at the same time, working at, say, a fast-food restaurant isn’t meant to be a career.

If you want to earn the big bucks, then take the right steps. Learn the skills or trades, get an education, work your way up. You shouldn’t have things just handed to you.
