Route 302 at the Windham-Raymond line was closed for a short time Tuesday morning after the contents of a garbage truck caught fire.

The truck was able to dump its load before the fire spread, according to police. The fire was reported around 5:30 a.m. There were no injuries.

An email statement issued at 5:36 a.m. by the Cumberland County Regional Communication Center said the road was closed, and by 5:54 a.m. the road was reopened. The fire department and public works crews were called in to clean up the debris, according to a tweet from the Windham Police Association.
