FREEPORT — Freeport police are investigating a home invasion in which two masked intruders entered a residence on Rowe Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. Susan Nourse said in a statement the intruders entered the home around 1:22 p.m. and went directly to a room where they removed an item. Nourse didn’t specify what the item might have been.

A young female opened the door of another room in the home and encountered the intruders in the hallway. One of the suspects pushed her and she fell to the floor.

The intruders ran off. They were tracked by Freeport’s police dog team without success. Freeport Officer Thomas Gabbard is working with neighboring departments on the investigation.

Rowe Court is a dead-end off Main Street.
