Maine State Police have used DNA analysis to identify the woman whose body was found in an Old Town apartment Monday, the victim of an apparent drug overdose.

Investigators say Darlene Gross, 54, was found dead in the apartment along with Mark Savage, 33. Both lived at the apartment and both deaths are suspected drug overdoses, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is performing blood tests to confirm the cause of the deaths.

Police went to the apartment after the pair had failed to show up for a meeting with an acquaintance. They had not been seen since Sept. 1.
