YORK — Colton Santoro and Cullen McCarty each rushed for a touchdown, and York held on for a 16-12 win over Mt. Ararat in a Class B South football game Friday night.

McCarty’s 1-yard run on fourth-and-goal and Payton Small’s pass to Pete Bouchard for the 2-point conversion gave the Wildcats (1-1) a 16-6 lead with 2:28 left.

Mt. Ararat (0-2) cut the deficit to 16-12 when Jacob O’Neil threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Brennan. York stopped the conversion pass and then recovered an onside kick.

York opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game on a 26-yard run by Santoro. McCarty added a 2-point conversion rush.

Jacob O’Neill scored on a keeper for Mt. Ararat on fourth-and-goal with 4:31 left in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 8-6.

YARMOUTH 40, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 14: Jack Snyder had four catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 78 yards and a score on seven carries as the Clippers (2-0) downed the Falcons (0-2) at Yarmouth.

Yarmouth’s John Thomas completed 6 of 11 passes for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Cody Cook scored a pair of touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving. Cook rushed for 74 yards on eight carries and had two receptions for 52 yards.

Lucas Uhl also scored for the Clippers and finished with 113 yards rushing on 14 carries.

After falling behind 13-0 in the first quarter, Mountain Valley cut the deficit to 13-6 on a 90-yard interception return in the second quarter.

The Clippers added two touchdowns in the second quarter to extend their lead to 27-6.

SOUTH PORTLAND 49, MASSABESIC 6: Devan Dupuis and Spencer Houlette each scored two touchdowns for the Red Riots (2-0) as they raced out to a 36-0 halftime lead and cruised to a win over the Mustangs (0-2) at South Portland.

South Portland also got one touchdown each from Dylan Rottkov, Dwayne Roberts and Maxwell Holmes.

KENNEBUNK 51, GORHAM 8: Patrick Saunders rushed for a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter as Kennebunk (2-0) raced out to a 44-0 halftime lead and cruised to a win at Gorham.

Jake Littlefield added TD runs of 66 and 30 yards in the second quarter. Kennebunk finished with 332 yards rushing on 22 carries, and also got a pair of touchdowns from Thomas Wildes, who scored on a 20-yard run and a 52-yard pass from Justin Wiggins.

Brady Lamontagne closed Kennebunk’s scoring with a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Gorham (0-2) scored in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard run by Stephen Burns. Andrew McKenney followed with a conversion rush.

OLD TOWN 36, OCEANSIDE 12: Troy Crawford had a pair of touchdown runs as the Coyotes (2-0) handled the Mariners (0-2) at Rockland.

Andre Miller also scored a pair of touchdowns – a 24-yard catch from Jake Jarvis in the first quarter and a 7-yard run in the fourth. Crawford’s TD runs were 11 and 21 yards.

Oceanside’s Brandon Debrosky hit Gage Robinson for a 62-yard TD in the fourth quarter.

BRUNSWICK 32, LAWRENCE 16: Will Bessey scored two touchdowns and passed for another, and Ben Palizay returned a punt 59 yards for a TD as the Dragons (2-0) beat the Bulldogs (0-2) at Fairfield.

Bessey’s 42-yard interception return for a touchdown helped Brunswick open a 15-0 lead in the first quarter. He connected with Alan Molnar for a 46-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, then clinched the win with a 1-yard TD run.

WINTHROP/MONMOUTH 45, TRAIP ACADEMY 14: Six players scored touchdowns for the Ramblers (1-1) in a win over the Rangers (1-1) at Winthrop.
