AUGUSTA — Maine’s Democratic party will run Lynn Olson of Standish in a November special election to fill a seat in the state House of Representatives.
The party announced Olson as its selection for District 23 on Monday. A spokeswoman for the state Republican Party says the party is running Lester Ordway for the seat.
Four-term Representative Michael A. Shaw, a Democrat, resigned from the seat on Aug. 21. Shaw is resigning because he is moving out of the district for a new job.
The special election will be Nov. 3. The winner will serve the rest of Shaw’s term, which runs until the end of 2016.
