The gathering was held at the University of New England Harold Alfond Center for Health Sciences and included several local dignitaries. From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “‘The members of the Laconia team are willing to play Saco-Lowell on Saturday afternoon, but Manager Moulen does not care to have anything more to do with the team,’ said a supporter of the outfit this morning, to the Journal. … Fans with whom the reporter talked earnestly hope that the rumors in circulation that Laconia would not play Saturday are untrue.”
