As a Greek of Lesvos Island descent, I recently had occasion to see, firsthand, the influx of refugees on this island.
There have been suggestions recently that the United States accept some of these potential immigrants who are flooding Europe. It is easy to support this suggestion. We are an inclusive society.
However, the presence of 11 million undocumented Mexican and Latin American refugees in this country generates a reciprocal thought for Europe: Should the European Union not also be willing to accept some of this Latino influx? Who should pay for the intrinsic cross-Atlantic travel?
