BELFAST — The Morse High School girls soccer rolled to a 5- 1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win over Belfast on Thursday.
The Shipbuilders improved to 3-1 and visit Spruce Mountain on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Aubrey Martin had a strong day on offense, scoring four goals for Morse. She opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, assisted by Abby Minott.
Morse maintained pressure in its offensive third, with Martin taking just two minutes to score the next goal unassisted. After more pressure and some rattled hardware, Baylie Cram headed a ball to the foot of Martin, who collected her hat trick.
Late in the half, Belfast penetrated the Shipbuilder defense for one of its few times and pushed a shot passed a diving Marissa Parks.
The Shipbuilders scored twice in the second half as Emma Rossetti picked up a pair of assists. She sent a direct kick to Martin for her fourth goal, and sent a cor ner kick to Amanda Gagne for the final goal.
Morse finished with a 19-7 shot advantage.
RICHMOND 2 SAC. VALLEY 3
Host Sacopee Valley received the game-winning goal from Morgan Carpenter midway through the second half as the Hawks came away with a win in a battle on unbeatens in South Hiram.
Autumn Acord and Meranda Martin scored for Richmond and were countered by Kenzie Murphy and Abby Hughes to forge a 2-2 deadlock.
Kelsea Anair had an assist for Richmond, and goaltender Sydney Tilton turned aside seven shots.
Carpenter put home the winner after collecting a corner kick.
The Bobcats had their 24- game regular- season setback snapped, the loss occurring at Sacopee Valley on Sept. 14, 2013.
The Hawks improved to 5- 0, while Richmond dropped to 3- 1 and hosts Valley on Saturday at 11 a.m.
MT. ARARAT 6 SKOWHEGAN 1
The visiting Eagles bounced back from their first loss of the season to record a KVAC win over 0- 5 Skowhegan.
Mt. Ararat ( 4- 1- 1) took control late in the first half, scoring three goals in the final 15 minutes. Chloe Beattle had a hat trick, while Erin Tome picked up a pair of goals.
Tatum Parker turned aside 13 shots in the Skowhegan net.
Mt. Ararat is slated to visit Oxford Hills on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
