Kristen O’Connell converted a penalty kick with 9:30 remaining in regulation Thursday and Sanford earned a 2-2 tie with Deering in an SMAA schoolgirl soccer game.

Simone Latoure and Meghana Clere had unassisted first-half goals as the Rams (3-1-1) led 2-0 at halftime.

Sanford (3-0-2) pulled with 2-1 on a Venessa Hodge goal from Molly Boissonneault.

Cassidy Coyne of Deering and Kyla Bragg of Sanford each finished with eight saves.

TRAIP ACADEMY 5, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Blanca Alonso scored three goals for Traip Academy (4-1) against Old Orchard Beach (0-4) at Kittery.

Emma Auclair had a goal and two assists, and Lilly Kemp added the fifth goal.

SACOPEE VALLEY 3, RICHMOND 2: Morgan Carpenter collected a corner kick and finished it off for the winning goal as Sacopee Valley (5-0) got by Richmond (3-1) at South Hiram.

Kenzie Murphy and Abby Hughes also scored for the Hawks. Autumn Acord and Miranda Martin countered for Richmond.

MORSE 5, BELFAST 1: Aubrey Martin scored four goals as the Shipbuilders (3-1) downed the Lions (0-4) at Belfast.

Martin scored three goals in the final 12 minutes of the first half. Belfast scored just before the break.

Emma Rossetti set up both second-half goals for Morse. The first was a direct kick to Martin, who finished it off. The second was a corner kick that Amanda Gagne volleyed in.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 9, WELLS 1: Nicole Thurston had three goals and three assists as the Raiders (4-1) rolled past the Warriors (0-5) at Kittery.

Janelle Weisemann added three goals for Fryeburg, Taylor Kruger had a goal and an assist, and Jade Fox also scored.

Delaney O’Brien had an unassisted goal for Wells.

Bridget Fahey made a pair of saves for the Raiders. Mary Hebden stopped 12 shots for Wells.

YORK 2, KENNEBUNK 1: Ali Jones scored twice in the first half as the Wildcats (6-0) downed Kennebunk (5-1) at York.

Lindsay Gregoire answered for Kennebunk midway through the second half.

BELFAST 1, MT. VIEW 0: Kylie Nelson scored on a breakaway with 15:18 left in the first half as Belfast (5-1) nipped Mt. View (3-3) at Belfast.

POLAND 1, FREEPORT 0: Darly King scored on a breakaway set up by Alexis Morey 1:13 into overtime to lift Poland (1-5) over the Falcons (2-3) at Freeport.

SCARBOROUGH 3, GORHAM 0: The Red Storm (4-1) won in straight sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-12) against the Rams (2-3) at Scarborough.

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, FALMOUTH 1: Madi Tait had 50 digs and Lydia Farmer added 15 kills to help the Capers (3-2) defeat Falmouth (4-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

The Capers took the first two games, 25-23, 25-18, Falmouth stayed in the match with a 25-12 win in the third set, but Cape won 25-21 in the fourth.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 3, PORTLAND 0: The Panthers (3-2) defeated the Bulldogs (1-4) in straights sets at Portland.

NYA won the sets 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20.

GREELY 3, CHEVERUS 0: Kayley Cimino served seven aces, made six kills and had seven assists to lead Greely (4-2) over Cheverus (0-5) in straight sets at Cumberland – 25-16, 25-19, 25-15.

Hannah Butland added six aces, and Molly Chapin had six aces and five kills.

BONNY EAGLE 3, LAKE REGION 0: Bonny Eagle (4-1) defeated Lake Region (1-4), 25-11, 25-9, 25-10 at Standish.

Kate Champagne finished with 12 service aces, four blocks and two kills for the Scots. Strong setter Bailey Gryskwicz had 10 assists and three aces. Sam Morash added two blocks and a kill, and Mia Ferrante had the match-winning kill.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, KENNEBUNK 0: Thornton Academy (5-0) downed Kennebunk (0-6) 25-12, 25-14, 25-10 at Saco.

Ashley Howe delivered six aces, killed six and blocked two for the Trojans.

DEERING 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: The Rams (3-2) won the last three sets after falling in the opener to defeat the Red Riots (1-3) at South Portland.

South Portland took the first set 25-13 before Deering won 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

Molly Mawhinney and Kaitlyn Bouchard combined for 10 kills for the Red Riots.
