BRUNSWICK — Nabil Odulate scored with less than five minutes remaining in the second overtime Saturday to give Bowdoin a 2-1 victory against Wesleyan in a New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s soccer game.

The Polar Bears (2-1, 1-1) controlled the first half and took the lead in the 38th minute when Matt Dias Costa headed in a cross from C.J. Masterson. Wesleyan (2-2, 0-1) got the upper hand in the second half and tied the game on Chris Kafina’s header off a corner kick.

A yellow card in the second overtime, just outside the penalty box, set up a free kick for the Polar Bears. Sam Ward played the ball into the penalty box where Odulate was able to redirect it.

CURRY 2, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 0: The Colonels (7-0, 2-0 Commonwealth Coast) scored in each half and shut out the Nor’easters (2-5, 0-2) at Biddeford.

Matt Cotnoir and Mike McFarlane scored the goals.

KEENE STATE 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Eddie Mercer had a pair of unassisted second- half goals as the Owls (2-4, 1-0 Little East) downed the Huskies (1-5-1, 0-1) at Gorham.

Mercer scored in the 60th minute when he snuck a shot just under the goalkeeper, and made it 2-0 on a penalty kick in the 68th minute.

Ian Byron and Simon Hulbert of Southern Maine combined for 14 saves. Mark Keller made a pair of saves for Keene State.

BATES 2, THOMAS 1: Luis Pereira scored 2:59 into overtime to lift Bates (4-0) over Thomas (2-3) at Lewiston.

David Dick fed Pereira on the winning goal. The Bobcats took the lead in the 61st minute when Pereira set up Max Watson. The Terriers tied it in the 67th minute on a bicycle kick by Willie Clemons.

COLBY 2, WILLIAMS 1: Tim Stanton scored off a corner kick from Dan Vogel with 31 seconds remaining in the second overtime as the Mules (2-2, 1-1 NESCAC) defeated the Ephs (2-2, 1-1) at Waterville.

Since 2000, Colby was 0-15 against the Ephs with only two goals, none at home.

ST. JOSEPH’S 3, RIVIER 0: Ralph Houanche had a goal and an assist as St. Joseph’s (3-3-1, 1-1-1 Great Northeast) beat Rivier (1-3, 0-2) at Standish.

Houanche put the Monks ahead for good unassisted after 4:01, then assisted on the second goal by Nicholas Borowski in the 70th minute. Jeremy Caruso added the final score 1:18 later from Ryan Guidaboni.

DEAN 9, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 0: The Bulldogs (5-0) rolled by the Seawolves (3-3-1) at Franklin, Massachusetts.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 4, CURRY 0: Jessica Meader and Edie Pallozzi scored two goals apiece as UNE (4-2) downed Curry (6-1) at Biddeford.

Pallozzi scored early from Meader, then Meader scored 11 minutes later with a low shot just inside the left post. Meader scored again early in the second half, running down the right side to convert a long pass from Kayla Hamel. Pallozzi capped the scoring in the 83rd minute, scoring on a loose ball.

ST. JOSEPH’S 2, RIVIER 0: Colleen Sheehan assisted on both goals for St. Joseph’s (2-4, 1-1 Great Northeast) against Rivier (2-3, 0-2) at Standish.

Rebecca Pond scored with nine seconds left in the first half from Sheehan. Hannah LeBlanc made it 2-0 with three minutes left.

KEENE STATE 7, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Taylor Farland and Ellen Granata each had a pair of goals for the Owls (3-2-1, 1-0 Little East) against the Huskies (2-3, 0-1) at Keene, New Hampshire.

Brittany Tolla had a goal and an assist, and Katie Silegy and Shannon Denault also scored.

WILLIAMS 8, COLBY 0: Audrey Thomas scored four of the first five goals for the Ephs (4-0, 3-0 NESCAC) against the Mules (1-2, 0-2) at Waterville.

Thomas had a pair of goals in both halves for Williams, which also received goals from Kristi Kirshe, Hanna Kaeser, Maddi Swarr and Kristina Alvarado.

MAINE 2, LIU-BROOKLYN 1: The Black Bears (2-6) scored a pair of first-half goals and held off the Blackbirds (5-3) at Orono.

Charlene Achille’s shot was deflected in by Ashley Robinson in the 13th minute to stake Maine to a 1-0 lead. Achille put in an unassisted goal 5:50 later. Madison Gomez scored from Lucy Gunton-Jones for LIU-Brooklyn.

BOWDOIN 2, WESLEYAN 0: Julia Patterson scored in the 20th minute off a cross from Kiersten Turner to give the Polar Bears (2-1) an early lead against the Ephs (3-2, 1-1) at Brunswick.

Jamie Hofstetter added a goal in the 69th minute on a header off a well-placed corner kick by Maggie Godley.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 8, DEAN 0: Tori Cormier scored three goals as the Seawolves (4-1) cruised past the Bulldogs (1-2) at Franklin, Massachusetts.

Madelyn Wade had two goals, Zyrah Giustra added a goal and an assist, and Katy Owen and Kym Kendrix also scored.

EASTERN CONNECTICUT STATE 5, SOUTHERN MAINE 3: Kaylie Andrews had a pair of goals as the Huskies (4-4, 1-1 Little East) had a comeback fall short against the Warriors (3-2, 1-1) at Mansfield, Connecticut.

Aleia Ansin also scored for USM.

ST. JOSEPH’S 6, RIVIER 0: Elyse Caiazzo and Kelsey Dumont scored two goals apiece as St. Joseph’s (2-0, 3-1 Great Northeast) shut out Rivier (1-4, 0-2) at Standish.

Caiazzo, Michalia Parent and Amanda Celata scored in the first 12 minutes.

MAINE 7, SIENA 1: After surrendering an early goal, the Black Bears (6-1) scored seven straight and rolled past the Saints (1-4) at Burlington, Vermont.

Samantha Wagg scored twice, Marissa Shaw had a goal and a pair of assists, and Madison Cummings, Daniele Aviani, Katie Bingle and Sydney Veljacic also scored for Maine.

WILLIAMS 3, COLBY 2: Hannah Goodrick scored with 16:02 left as Williams (4-0, 2-0 NESCAC) edged Colby (2-2, 0-2) at Waterville.

Alex Bennett scored the Ephs’ other two goals. Misha Strange scored in the 39th and 49 minutes for Colby.

BOWDOIN 5, WESLEYAN 0: The Polar Bears (4-0, 3-0 NESCAC) scored four first-half goals and beat the Cardinals (2-3, 0-1) at Brunswick.

Rachel Kennedy scored three goals, and Kimmy Ganong and Sarah Jane Weill also scored.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 4, WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 1: Nicole Matarozzo scored twice to pace the University of New England (5-2, 2-0 Commonwealth Coast) over Western New England (3-2, 0-1), at Biddeford.

MAINE MARITIME 47, MASSACHUSSETS MARITIME 41: The teams combined for 75 first-half points – the score was 41-34 – and the Mariners (1-1) held off the Buccaneers (1-1) at Castine.

WOMEN’S RUGBY

BOWDOIN 80, TUFTS 5: Addison Carvajal and Paige Pfannenstiel scored three tries each for Bowdoin in an opener at Brunswick. Georgia Bolduc added a pair of tries for the Polar Bears, who play next Saturday at Middlebury.
