BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford boys cross country team took home five of the top 10 spots on Friday afternoon as the Tigers swept a quad-meet against Bonny Eagle, Cheverus and Noble.

Biddeford finished with 23 points, while Bonny Eagle finished second with 57 and Cheverus (61) and Noble (99) rounded out the team race.

Cheverus’ Josh Veronau won the race with a time of 17:32, but following him across the line were Biddeford runners Jordan Cook (17:48), Trevor Jordan (18:32) and Seth Perry (18:52).

Biddeford got a sixth-place finish from Ben Plante and an eighth-place finish from John DelPrete.

On the girls’ side of things, Biddeford took second with 33 points just behind first-place Bonny Eagle, which finished with 28 points. Noble was third with 62 and Cheverus didn’t have a complete team.

Biddeford was led by Riley McNeil, who finished in fourth with a time of 21:45, and Leia Dorais finished in seventh at 22:21.

The Tigers also got top-ten finishes from Jija Young, who came in ninth, and Abby Laverriere, who finished in 10th.

Thornton Academy was unable to beat

Cheverus keeper Hannah Tyson and the Stags found the back of the net once to pick up the win.

Mackenzie Johnston scored at the 34:56 mark of the second half off a rebound of a free kick to give the Stags the lead and the win.

Lexi Nason made four stops for the Golden Trojans, who dropped to 4-3 on the season.

Waynfl ete def. Ol d Orch ard Beach

Arianna Giguere completed a hat trick on Friday to lead Waynflete over Old Orchard Beach.

Waynflete also got scores from Lydia Giguere and Isabel Canning. Ali Pope pitched the shutout in goal for the Flyers.

Tiffany LeClair made 10 stops for OOB.
