Blue Point Brewing Co., a craft brewer based in Patchogue, N.Y., is throwing a Boatyard Bash at Union Wharf in Portland on Oct. 10.

The event, which will run from 2 to 7 p.m., will feature games, prizes and brews. Admission is free, but food and beer must be purchased. A percentage of the price of each beer sold will go to the Good Shepherd Food-Bank.

Florida chef Paula DaSilva will lead two interactive seminars. The first, from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., is on “Cooking With Beer: New England Clam Chowder With Blue Point Toasted Lager.” The second seminar will focus on pairing beer with seafood and will be held from 5:15 to 6 p.m.

Finally, Blue Point will hold a scavenger hunt from 3 to 5 p.m. that will include beer samples and prizes. The price for participating is a $10 donation to the Good Shepherd Food-Bank.
