The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says it has found another methamphetamine lab, this time in a hotel in Brewer.

The cleaning staff discovered the meth lab Thursday morning in one of the guest rooms at the Vacationland Inn on Wilson Street, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The woman who rented the room had been arrested earlier in the day by Brewer police on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

Erica Hodgdon, 29, of Bangor was charged Thursday night with drug trafficking, according to an intake officer at the Penobscot County Jail. She was being held on $1,476 cash bail.

McCausland said the Vacationland Inn was evacuated when the MDEA’s meth lab team arrived Thursday afternoon. Drug agents wearing protective suits entered the hotel and confirmed that there was a meth lab in the room rented by Hodgdon.

It was the 38th time this year that the MDEA had responded to a meth-related incident – the most in any year in Maine.
