Maine writers take the spotlight at Bowdoin College this fall. Camden resident and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Russo will give a reading and talk as part of the college’s visiting writers series. He speaks at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 at Kresge Auditorium.

Portland author and Bowdoin English professor Brock Clarke will read from his novel “The Happiest People in the World” at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in the Massachusetts Hall Faculty Room. Clarke’s novel was released in 2014, when he was on leave.

The talks are free and open to the public.
